Taara project – high-speed Internet transmitted by laser. Google-owned company X announced that a prototype implementation of a laser communication system has been successfully completed. The Taara project consists in creating a stable Internet network between cities located almost 5 km apart using a laser. The test of the system in Africa lasted 20 days with 700 TB of data transmitted at speeds up to 20 Gbps with 99.9% availability. The network created will be used commercially, since making a cable connection is very expensive at that location. The problem is the Congo River whose rapid current and great depth make it impossible to run a fiber optic cable, and the alternative route is as long as 400 km.

The high-reliability data transmission technology was developed under the Loon project, which was intended to create a network using balloons about 100 km apart. The project was suspended for economic reasons, but the Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC) technology used has been used to provide wireless broadband in Africa. Similarly to fiber optics but without cables, Taara uses light to transmit information at very high speeds through the air as a very narrow, invisible beam. It works best over short distances and at specific locations. Problems the transmission is faced arise from visibility interference between transmitter and receiver. The most disturbing is fog and rain, and the transmissions can also interfere with passing birds or other animals that get into the equipment.
Global Internet traffic is expected to grow 24% annually. Fiber optic cable can handle this increase in demand, but deploying an extensive fiber optic network often comes with logistical complications. Planning and digging trenches to lay the lines can be time-consuming and expensive, and difficult terrain may pose physical challenges that make construction nearly impossible. Like fiber optics but without wires, optical wireless communication uses light to transmit data at high speeds between two points. The link is incomparably cheaper to build and maintain than wired infrastructure.
###02##++External antenna for LTE.+++ In many cases, when the base station is far from the mobile device, there are problems with adequate signal strength. In order to improve it, it is usually necessary to connect a suitable external antenna to the modem. However, sometimes the use of an external antenna is not needed to improve the LTE signal, but, for example, to force data transmission between a particular base station and modem. Note that the LTE antenna should be broadband – this is related to the introduction of new LTE bands and their aggregation.
Before selecting an external antenna, you should check the parameters of the LTE network signal received by the modem. To do this, run the network diagnostics tab in the router or modem software, and then compare the parameters with the values shown below.
  • RSRP (dBm) – (Reference Signal Receive Power) – a measure of signal strength
    • greater than -79 dBm – very good signal strength
    • from -80 dBm to -90 dBm – good signal strength
    • from -91 dBm to -100 dBm – poor signal strength. Use an external antenna or change the modem location
    • less than -100 dBm – signal strength very poor. Use an external antenna.
  • RSRQ (dB) – (Reference Signal Received Quality) – a measure of signal quality
    • more than -9 dB - very good
    • between -10 dB and -15 dB - good
    • between -16 dB and -20 dB – poor. Use an external antenna or change the modem location.
    • less than -20 dBm – very poor. Use an external antenna.
  • SINR (dB) – (Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio) – a measure of usable signal quality relative to noise interference
    • more than 21 dB – very good
    • between 13 dB and 20 dB – good
    • between 0 dB and 12 dB – poor. Use an external antenna.
    • less than 0 dBm – very poor. Use an external antenna.
  • RSSI – (Received Signal Strength Indicator) – indicator of hte received signal strength including interference; higher data transfer activity – higher RSSI
    • greater than -73 dBm – very good
    • from -75 dBm to -85 dBm – good
    • from -87 dBm to -93 dBm – poor. Use an external antenna or change the modem location.
    • less than -95 dBm – very poor. Use an external antenna.

Measuring the DVB-S/S2 satellite signal with Wideband technology. To ensure proper reception of satellite TV, many people, who are afraid of setting up and installing a satellite dish on their own, use the services of an expert who is equipped with a professional meter. In fact, this is not a simple task for an inexperienced DIY enthusiast, and the proper adjustment of the antenna dish has a key impact on the quality of satellite signal reception. If the satellite signal is supplied to several receivers, multiswitches are used, to which cables from a quatro LNB should be connected. Such system requires 4 cables to be connected. What if 4 cables cannot be provided from the LNB to the multiswitch? The latest solution based on a Wideband LNB enables the reduction of four to two wires. The LNBs used in multiswitch systems operating in the WideBand technology, unlike the Quatro LNBs standard, have two signal outputs (H polarization/V polarization). A system based on one satellite requires only two satellite cables from the LNB to the multiswitch. The GT-WB1 model A98222 is based on a single local 10.41 GHz oscillator providing excellent performance in the entire frequency range of 290...2340 MHz. GT-WB1 A98222 works with TERRA SRM522 R80522 multiswitch. And how to precisely align the satellite dish in this case? An ideal solution is to use the Signal ST-5150 R10842 meter capable of measuring signals in Wideband technology.

However, the old rule says that the best way to protect the source data is to use surge protection.
In many cases, specialists installing computer networks use solutions based on optical media converters, instead of typical protection measures lowering risks of voltage surges between systems with copper cables. Optical fiber is a transmission medium guarantying high bandwidth and being an ideal insulator. In addition, the isolating fiber optic links are much cheaper than solutions dedicated for really effective protection of networks with twisted-pair cables.

To add device support from the cloud simply log in to your account. The devices connected to the account will be automatically added to the list and the user will be able to access the functions supported by the cloud, including: live monitoring (multiple channels simultaneously), PTZ control, digital zoom, eavesdropping, playback of archives, and alarm notifications (zone violation, line crossing, etc.).
It may happen that this button is not visible in the program. This happens when there is no .Net Framework library in the system or when the computer has not been restarted after installing the library.
AcuSense in Hikvision IP cameras. New Hikvision IP camera solutions use AcuSense technology, based on Deep Learning algorithms. But what does this really mean for the user? In traditional solutions, events from motion detection or VCA analysis (e.g. crossing the virtual line or intrusion detection) were based on the detection of pixel changes. It is a solution that, under the influence of unfavorable ambient conditions such as rain, tree movements, etc., could generate a significant number of false alarms. As a consequence, recordings would appear on the DVR that did not necessarily mean that an interesting event had been detected, and the end user could receive such a large number of false alarms that they often gave up on notifications.
AcuSense brings a new quality to monitoring. When configuring events, a human/vehicle filter is available where, when selected, the filter first checks to see if the object is a human or vehicle and then runs a notification. While configuring the system, the installer can enable or disable the filter (in this case the camera works like the previous solutions, detecting all objects). The second-generation AcuSense technology is available in the EasyIP 4.0 Series, designated DS-2CD2XX6G2 (AcuSense) and DS-2CDXX7G2 (AcuSense + ColorVu), as well as the EasyIP 2.0 Plus Series, designated DS-2CD2XX3G2 (AcuSense).
