Tesla shows demonstration version of a fully autonomous car.
Tesla Motors, American car company producing cars with electric drive, demonstrated fully autonomous car that leaves the garage with a driver only as a passenger. The car drives through streets, stops before stop signs and emerging pedestrians. The demo ends after the vehicle has executed parallel parking maneuver, which sometimes can be difficult for many drivers. The company announces that from now on all the manufactured cars will be equipped with the system for autonomous driving, providing greater security than in the case of human driving.
A tour of autonomous Tesla
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, revealed more details on Twitter, explaining that the car, when searching for a parking space, analyzes road signs and checks if can park at a given location, avoiding places for disabled people. Musk also notes that drivers will be able to communicate with the car via special application. "When you want your car to return, tap Summon on your phone. It will eventually find you even if you are on the other side of the country". It sounds fantastic.
Eight surround cameras provide 360-degree visibility around the car at up to 250 meters of range. Twelve ultrasonic sensors complement this vision, allowing for detection of both hard and soft objects. A forward-facing radar provides additional data about the environment, also through heavy rain, fog, dust. A new computer based on neural networks, 40 times more efficient than the previous units, processes the signals from the sensors.
Although both the model S and X are already manufactured with the new hardware, no-one will see driverless Tesla cars in streets yet. The company still needs to improve the software and calibrate the system, traveling a million miles in real world before launching new features. The system must also be approved by regulators before it can be used on roads.
Digital DVB-T COFDM modulators.
The distribution of multimedia in the form of DVB-T ensures the same quality of image and sound in the entire system and, above all, allows for providing HD content to multiple receivers in a cost-effective way. DVB-T modulators can be used, for example, in the following applications:
- injection of surveillance video from analog CCTV cameras to shared antenna system,
- injection of surveillance video from a DVR or NVR to shared antenna system,
- displaying information/commercial materials on multiple televisions (e.g. in electronic stores),
- creating "private" channels in hotels, campuses, housing developments.
Classifications of DVB-T modulators can be based on the number of sources that can be connected to one device, the type(s) of the input(s), the range of output channels etc.

R86702 and WS-7990
R86704 multi-channel modulators are multipurpose devices that convert HDMI or baseband A/V signals into DVB-T multiplexes. Additional RF input (ANT IN) can be used for combining the output RF signal with other TV signals.
Selection of accessories for a RACK cabinet.
When choosing accessories for a rack cabinet, the user should pay attention to their compatibility with the specific model of the cabinet. Some components may be dedicated to other models, e.g. with greater depth or with a different way of mounting the accessory (e.g. a fan).
DIPOL e-Store offers a simple mechanism that provides a list of compatible accessories for the selected RACK cabinet. The user should simply open the site with the required RACK, e.g.
R912018, and then click on the "Add accessories" button in the right section (in the picture below the button is surrounded by a red line).
The "Add accessories" button on the product page
The new window shows the list of compatible accessories:

The list contains the available accessories compatible with the chosen RACK cabinet. The user can add any item to the Cart, to the wish list (Favorites), or just see its catalog card.
Protection of the home LAN.
Nowadays the home network can include several computers, televisions, network drives, consoles, media players etc. Along with the expansion of the network and due to a considerable cost of the devices, the importance of network protection against overvoltages is much higher.
Voltage surges can come from both the AC power network and the signal transmission lines. The protection against overvoltages in the power network is provided by safety extension cords/strips with surge suppressors (varistors) and fuses. In the event of a voltage increase over a limit (typically 250 VAC), the fuses cut off the power for the connected devices.
The signal path based on twisted-pair cables can be secured by dedicated protectors, for example
J2820. The condition for the proper functioning of this type of elements is their proper grounding.
The best and increasingly popular method of protection is the change of the LAN transmission medium from twisted-pair cable to optical fiber before the first device in the home network. This substitution results in a total galvanic separation of the local area network from the WAN and provides 100% protection.
The set of ULTIMODE media converters protecting all devices connected to a home LAN
In the diagram above, the home LAN is protected by the pair of
L10021 media converters connected via the
L31119 multimode patchcord. When selecting media converters, it is important to adjust their capacity to the parameters of the access network - in the case of data rates over 100 Mbps the suitable choice is to use gigabit devices, e.g.
L10025. The type of the fiber should only be compliant with the media converters (multimode or single-mode), but due to short lengths, in some cases the user should remember about suitable attenuators. In the example, all the devices in the home have been connected to the AC power network via safety multi-outlet extension cords with surge suppressor ACAR P7ACAR
P1316.
Wireless remote controller RE-2K.
The RE-2K
G5812 wireless two-channel controller is used for control of electrical devices with relay inputs, via wireless key fobs. The remote controller can work with up to 16 remote key fobs
G5902 (433 MHz remote key fobs from SATEL). The board of the controller is equipped with two relays, programming button and pins (2x3, J7 and J8), two-color LED indicator (of operation mode and programming actions).
Depending on how the jumpers are set on the pins, the relays can operate in different modes:
bistable (no jumper) - by pressing the key of a fob the user switches the relay status to the opposite
pulse (jumper set on the two lower pins) - the relay is switched ON as long as the user presses the key of a fob (the fob operation time is limited to 30 seconds)
monostable (jumper set on the two upper pins) - by pressing the key of a fob the user switches the relay status to ON (for 5 seconds by default or for a programmed period, from 1 to 250 seconds)
Video outputs in Hikvision DVRs/NVRs.
Digital video recorders are usually equipped with several video outputs, either to match various monitors or connect additional ones. There are three popular types of video outputs, HDMI, VGA and BNC. The BNC output is usually independent, but most Hikvision DVRs provide the same video on the HDMI and VGA outputs. The HDMI and VGA outputs can be configured independently only in some top models.
The Hikvision DVR contains video settings in the Configuration > General menu
In Hikvision DVRs the menus can be displayed on monitor(s) connected to different outputs, depending on the model and firmware version. The configuration of video settings for displaying the DVR menu is possible only locally (with the physical access to the DVR). The menu may appear on the output connected to a monitor, according to the rule HDMI> VGA> BNC, or can be assigned to a specified output.
| | Multimode Patch Cord PC-019D L31130 is made of two parallel sections of multimode fiber optic cable with a length of 3 meter, terminated on both sides with two SC connectors. The optical fiber used in the patch cord is OM2. It provides full compatibility with existing fiber-optic networks based on multimode fibers. |
